From wjs Thu Jun 20 22:01:58 1996 From: wjs (William Shipley) Date: Thu Nov 3 13:04:56 2005 Subject: OmniPDF 2.0 PR2 released on next-ftp.peak.org Message-ID: <9606210502.AA19488@omnigroup.com> ftp://next-ftp.peak.org/pub/next/submissions/OmniPDF-2.0PR2_NIHS.tar.gz PR2 contains a couple of minor fixes over PR1, and also adds some minimal help to explain the previously undocumented non-command keys like space, tab, 'b' and 'f'. The fixes are related to printing; the fix I put into 2.0 to get printing to HPs (and other non-8-bit printers) to work ended up being backwards if the image or font being downloaded needs additional filters, but I didn't notice that because I didn't have filtered images in my test files. Please bang on printing, especially those of you with HP printers that failed before. PR2 will be the golden release of OmniPDF if I don't get any major bug reports. This driver speeds up video access by over 2x! This driver works on the one P6 motherboard we have and all of the PCI video cards that we have. I imagine it should work on most systems, but we are interested in having people try it out (and enjoy the faster video). Check out http://www.omnigroup.com/Software/OmniPentiumPro for complete details. -tim From wjs Mon Jul 15 17:12:31 1996 From: wjs (William Shipley) Date: Thu Nov 3 13:04:56 2005 Subject: OmniPDF 2.0 Prerelease 3 available now. Text annotations are arbitrary notes a user can add in Acrobat and some other Adobe PDF utilities. They show up as little document icons that can be clicked on to pop up an annotation window, just like in Acrobat. Right now annotations aren't editable in OmniPDF. -Wil From wjs Thu Jul 25 18:38:47 1996 From: wjs (William Shipley) Date: Thu Nov 3 13:04:56 2005 Subject: OmniPDF beta license extension. It causes CVS information to be preserved when modifying models. If you're interested in this bundle (only useful for those who have EOF 2.0), see the web page at http://www.omnigroup.com/Software/OmniCVSEOModelerBundle/. Here's the readme - please note the important warning about usage: --- begin README --- OmniCVSEOModelerBundle version 0.5, August 19, 1996 Omni Development, Inc. info@omnigroup.com http://www.omnigroup.com/ OmniCVSEOModelerBundle is a loadable bundle for EOModeler 2.0. It causes CVS information to be preserved when modified models are saved, thus making it much more simple to use CVS in conjunction with EOModeler 2.0. IMPORTANT WARNING: If EOModeler 2.0 is launched as the result of opening a model, it will open the model BEFORE it loads any bundles. The end result is that if that model is modified and saved, the CVS information will NOT be preserved. Any models opened AFTER EOModeler is launched will have their CVS information preserved, so it is strongly suggested that you launch EOModeler manually before opening any models. This bundle is free and may be used and passed around with no restrictions. However, no guarantees are made as to this bundle's reliability or suitability for any task, including the task for which it is intended. If it fails to preserve your CVS information, if it destroys your model, if it erases your hard drive, or whatever, Omni is not responsible. We know of one way in which CVS information can fail to be preserved: see the warning above. To use: at the time of this writing, in order to get EOModeler to load in bundles you must set a default - BundlesToLoad - telling EOModeler which bundles to load. Place this bundle in the desired location (such as /LocalDeveloper/EOModelerExtensions) and then set the default accordingly. For example: defaults write EOModeler BundlesToLoad "(/LocalDeveloper/EOModelerExtensions/OmniCVSEOModelerBundle.bundle) " For more details on EOModeler and it's use of loadable bundles, see The EOModeler framework and /NextDeveloper/Examples/EnterpriseObjects/ModelerBundle from the EOF 2.0 distribution. They should now be stored in /LocalLibrary/OmniComponents/OmniWeb.defaults. (Note: In OmniWeb 2.0, they were stored in /LocalLibrary/OmniComponents/Omni.dictionary.) * Inline TIFF images should now display properly again. * Table cell background colors now extend to the full size of the table cell. (They used to only be present behind the cell's text object, which isn't necessarily the full size of its row and column.) * Timed refreshes now supply the referring page. * Fixed a bug in the network writing code which could cause it to potentially drop some of the data being written. (I don't know whether anyone has encountered this or not. The most likely danger would be in trying to post a large file.) * Added the color "bluegreen", since I found a page which uses it (so presumably Netscape supports it-unfortunately, I haven't been able to find out its exact definition, but I figure any bluegreen color is better than the default black).
