There are a couple of oddities that I have noticed creating artwork in
OmniGraffle and trying to share that across platforms. With SVG files,
any bitmap file (your mugshots) are placed inside a folder. However,
nearly every Windows application I've used has no clue how to use them.
Like you, I've noticed several similar issues with Visio, bitmap files
simply don't seem like they are the best method to use if I'm using a
mix of bitmap and structured objects in a document that will be shared
across platforms. I have pretty much given up. One other thing to be
aware of is the way OG and Visio handle shadows and transparency. Any
shadow or transparency used in OG looks horrible in Visio, and so I've
learned not to use either if I'm going to import the file into Visio. I
like you, hope for a solution, but sadly, I think some of these issues
are simply related to how the Mac and PC operate and are beyond what OG
can do to "fix" them.
