Releasing items from masters?

This is not possible, AFAIK. You either create a second master for this
one canvas or you add a non-transparent bold text object right on top of
the text that you would like to emphasize. Alternatively, you also could
place a rectangular frame around the word you would like to emphasize,
etc.
