Recommendation for Spam Email

The previous poster is correct: we generally don't like to mess with
other people's data or posts, and the subject line alteration doesn't
make anything possible that isn't already possible. Additionally, the
List-ID header is preferred because it's guaranteed to be set to the
last list a given message came through. If a message has bounced from
one list to another, filters based on the subject line will behave
unpredictably. The tags can also mess up theading for some mail
clients.

My machine is running 10.3, and I use mail as my mail reader
application. The following steps are how I'd set up a mail rule that
sorts this list mail into the appropriate box and ignores spam.

Select an OmniGraffle-users list message in your browser window.
Click on Mail -> Preferences... -> Rules
Click the "Add Rule" button
Give the rule a descriptive name that makes sense to you.

In the conditions well, select "Edit Header List..." from the leftmost
pop-up.
In the small window that appears, type "List-Id" (sans the quotes) in
the text area, then click the "Add header" button, followed by the "OK"
button.

You'll be returned to the sheet where you can construct your new rule.
If you click on the leftmost pop-up, you should now see "List-ID" in
the list of options. Select this, and if you have a message from this
list active in your browser window, the proper value will be added to
the text area on the right.

If that doesn't happen, it's pretty easy to edit. You want a rule that
looks like this:

If [any] of the following conditions are met:
[List-Id] [Contains] [omnigraffle-users.omnigroup.com]

(and then the options you use to move the message where you'd like it.)

The process may be slightly different on a 10.4 machine, or if you're
using a different mail client, but this is the general outline of how
you'd want to set up a rule that will filter list messages without
looking at the subject line.

Hope this helps,

Sincerely,
