OK, and then you magnify the thing and measure it again, and *wow* you 
get a different measure :-)
But you're right of course, if you can fill something you know where 
the inside begins, so you've got a way of calculating x-coords. So you 
count pixels, and then you see how many pixels there are to a square 
centimetre/inch, and you've got it. Of course, there's still the fact 
that you get a greater accuracy if you enlarge the object on screen 
which is somewhat unintuitive...

Still, this is something you need to wire deeply into OG, it's not 
something you add in a few minutes.
