Hear, hear! I think this would be bigger/better news for Word 2004
than any of the 'features' that they demoed at Macworld. Not like I'd
start using it again anyway :).

FWIW, I've been able to do this successfully with epstool, although
Word only recognizes an LZW TIFF preview. If anyone is interested, the
command line is `epstool -tg --device tifflzw inputfile.eps
outputfile.eps`; this requires ghostscript, as well, so it's
non-trivial. I'm sure the Carbon solution you folks are working on is
much cleaner!
