action link to file - why not 'as alias'?

Hi David and list,

The 3's are very cool. I have been toying around with 3 Pro, and its
phenomenal.

David, something I asked long ago, why can't the link to files on the user's
machine be an alias link?


Right now, because the link is to a file's current path, I have to write
every time an applescript to link that file as alias. I need to do it,
because I change the location of the linked files very often.

Among the apps that currently link as alias, jEdit is a good example. When
you drag and drop over an open jEdit document, the link it creates is 'as
alias'  - and it will find the original file no matter where it is (in the
original volume)

Please tell me Omni will consider it... :-)
