Most "universal" type of video file?

.mpg isn't a container and it can refer to either MPEG1 or MPEG2, both
of which are video formats. .mp4 isn't a container, either, it's a
group of methods that makes a video format.

Basically, you can put an MPEG _in_ an AVI (et al) but you can't put
an AVI _in_ an MPEG.
