Most "universal" type of video file?

Well, Safari was 2.2% of the installed browser market in April 2008,  
and is not yet what I'd call a mature browser (watch its poor  
javascript support screw up your Google Docs documents or TinyMCE  
posts in WordPress for example). I wouldn't worry much about Safari.
