Leopard menu bar and window focus issues

On several occasions, Leopard (10.5.2 Intel) did not allow me to  
select a window to make it active.  This has usually happened with the  
Terminal application but also with others.  The main menu bar also  
would not change.  Has anyone else seen this?  It appears to be a  
window server bug which happens under certain conditions that I  
haven't pinned down yet.
