First thing, this update didn't really bring much in performance (and  
in some cases a performance drop), so you could just not worry about it.

Actually I tend to think threats like that are met with apathy.

You: I've just bought a MacBook Pro, and unless I get the new version  
I'll go PC.
Them: Go on then, spend another $2000 and stop calling us.

The threat doesn't make sense.

Personally I'd call them up, explain the situation, explain you're  
unhappy and see if they can do anything, but if not get on with your  
life and enjoy your machine.
