Mail password keeps being forgotten...

I have found the following:
The plist file "com.apple.security.plist" has originally only one
entry named "TimestampProgressTransformChunk" (Class: Number), the
value (on my mac mini with TIGER 11.4) is "-791021250"
For unknown reason, a second entry has been written in that Plist
file (by ?????) named "DLDBSearchList" (Class: Array), but the array
is empty (it has no child).
BUT: it seems, that this entry blocks the application "Keychain
Access.app" to read the users keychain, for whatever reason, I dont
know...
The result: neighter Mail.app nor other apps, which store passwords
can read them anymore. (it appears, that storing still works, but
why???).
The solution: just delete the entry named "DLDBSearchList" in the
"com.apple.security.plist" and all passwords reappear again.
