Obviously, if cool is not what you want then don't even consider it.

The MBA is a design. That happens to run OSX very comfortably.

People, not you, not John the student, not me either because I have  
what I need already and my wife wants a 17" anyway, _will_ buy it  
_because_ of the design.

Period. Get over it.

Just like _even though_ the iPhone was "limited" compared to other  
(not so) smartphones, it was a killer because it was about design  
(form factor and UI ergonomics). But there are still plenty of people  
who are not going to buy it because they don't buy "design".
