* Pricey compared to what? More compact always means more expensive.  
You're not paying for performance or versatility, you're paying for  
portability and design.

* Clearly not designed to be an embedded product, so I think it's  
unfair to bash it for not fitting into that category.

* The battery can be replaced, you just need help to do it. It costs  
about as much as on existing laptops. That said, I always end up  
buying a new laptop before I find that I need to replace the battery.  
I don't see what the big deal is. Personally I find that this holds  
true for all other components too btw.

* People have been asking (screaming) for this product for years. Will  
they buy it now that it exists? Time will tell.
