Background hiliting of text in TextEdit

Hello try opening the document in TextEdit and then going to
TextEdit>Preferences>Open and Save>check "Ignore rich text commands in
HTML files">click the red X on that dialog in the top left corner
...hopefully that'll resolve this issue for you :)
