Custom keyboard layout as first class citizen?

Hi,

Long time reader, first post.

I have a custom keyboard layout (french Dvorak) that I made with
Ukelele. It works fine.

But it appears, that in the eye of Mac OS X (10.5, but same problem
before), it isn't a "full citizen" layout:
	* In International Preferences, I can't check only my layout, and
uncheck all others. I have to check at least one other.
	* When an authentication dialog show-up, it switches automatically to
the other layout available.

Note: I don't really mind the fact to have an other mapping active ; I
do mind the automatic switching.

I've seen two hints of fix here:
http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&item_id=ukelele
(Looks for two comments by lanzz and FG)

Unfortunately, I couldn't reproduce it with 10.5.

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you,
