any way to get iCal to email a different address?

[i.am.list.boy at gmail.com]

I want to use the email alarm feature that iCal offers. But any  
emails that I send myself thru gmail seem to want to  "sit" in the  
Gmail web inbox, instead of coming back as new mail.

Is there a way to get iCal to email a different address other than  
the one listed in my Address Book vcard?
