Anybody have problem with Mail not wanting to increase font

Not just yes, but hell, yes.
Even worse is the following behavior with HTML messages from Yahoo
newsgroups: the lines extend far beyond the right margin and are not
affected by window resizing or font size alterations (which often
don't work anyway, as you note). It is true in both the preview and
full windows. The only way to read this mail reasonably is to hit
the reply button, whereupon it is reformatted as ASCII and now fits
the window.
(This introduces another malevolent side-effect -- when you are done
reading the message and reach up to hit the Delete icon, you are
actually hitting the Send icon, and you send a reply back to the
mailing list with no new content, making you look like an utter
idiot. So I have taken to deleting the To address immediately after
hitting the reply button, to prevent my muscle memory from making
this error.)
