Thanks for sharing your experience - I agree SD! is a great engine.  I  
just know people have found it awkward when doing partial backups like  
this.

Do give Rsync 3.0.0pre9 a try.  I can now do my entire backup with one  
fairly simple shell script - plus I have per-directory filters set up  
to include or skip particular items as needed.
