The day you come across an MKV container with a real media video
stream and an uncompressed PCM audio track or some of the other stupid
travesties I've seen is the day you realise that it's the sort of
format that attracts idiots. That alone is enough to put me off.
I have a few MKVs that won't play on Quicktime even with Perian and on
VLC the subs are screwed. Funnily, it works on Windows Media Player on
XP.
Does the world really need another container format?
