Are there any clues in the console log?

As a long shot, is the volume or partition where CS3 lives
formatted case-sensitive?    I stumbled across that a year ago.
CS3 (at least at that time, with version 10.0.1) expected a
case-insensitive file system, as, clearly, Adobe had not
tested on a case-sensitive system.
