there's a history of different issues with Helvetica, and there 
are some best practices for previous OS versions that don't work 
as well on Leopard

please be more specific about 1) the warning messages, 1b) what 
you are doing when you get the warning messages, 2) how it was 
determined that Helvetica was "missing", 3) which Helvetica, 4) 
anything you might have done to manipulate fonts on the system 
(including direct addition/removal/replacement and/or use of Font 
Book or another manager)

if this is a spontaneously emerging condition, it's possible 
clearing font caches will resolve it; a simple way to clear font 
caches (except MS/Adobe/Quark app-specific caches) is to do a 
safe boot (boot while holding shift key)
