No Mail app on iPod Touch?

Don't get me wrong, I would be tempted too! But is it fair to say it's
primary function is a media player not a comm device, and the wi-fi/USB
connectivity is for that reason?

Once again, this (ahem) convergence sounds great, but don't apple already
have a device that does this (which by the way will be using the itunes
wifi service also)?
