Many thanks for all the advice.

I'm going to give 1Passwd a try, be interesting to see if it gets  
around the efforts of banks to force me to fill in their little boxes  
manually.

For the rest I tried Litte Secrets, which is just fine for what I need.

I was intrigued by the idea of needing to handle these matters when  
away from one's computer. How does this happen? It's true that we  
sleep in separate rooms these days, but when I'm asleep I don't need  
access to my passwords.
