Time Machine and multiple drives backing up to a SINGLE drive

An article in the issue of MacLife or MacWorld that just came out  
(sorry, read 'em the same day) specifically complained that this is  
the ONLY way Time Machine will back up multiple drives, so apparently  
the answer is yes.
