Well, three machines updated no apparent problem... but Firefox hangs on one of them (not responding) and just clicking on the Firefox preferences file in Library hangs the Finder, I relaunched it but it's still hung, and I can't reopen Force Quit Applications... so it does indeed look as if 10.4.11 is one of the worst.
