MB charger flashes between orange and green

It's not a good sign. I had that happen too and the battery failed
within a couple of weeks.
It was a first gen MacBook Pro that I had just received at work. The
battery was part of the MBP Battery exchange program from last year.
It wasn't complied with on this computer by the person who had it
before me.
The battery was dead and swollen enough that the bottom was starting
to delaminate.
Go to Apple's support page and check your battery serial number to see
if it matches the recalled batteries.
