iTunes doesn't retain thumbnails for movies ?

I've consolidated some libraries today --
have some 450 movie snippets in my iTunes Movies library --
I browse them via album art and iTunes grabs a frame to use as thumbnail

if I go back to my music library, then back to my movies library, i  
have to re-cache all the movie thumbnails -
does iTunes not keep artwork for the movies in a folder ?  or am I  
just looking at slow loading performance?
I think it might just be a performance thing - i see the same thing  
happening when I go back revisit my music library.

I wouldn't expect things to be so slow considering I'm hanging a 7200  
rpm miniStack V2 500 Gig via FW400 off a MBPro17 (until Apple ships  
an updated Mac Mini :-D
