iChat groups via Bonjour

For a non-Bonjour iChat buddy  list, I can initiate a group chat by  
Cmd-clicking buddies and clicking "A." Or do File | New Chat and  
click  "+" to add people to  the group.

This does not work at work, where we use Bonjour. "A" is grayed  out  
if I select  multiple Bonjour peeps, and "+" is greyed out  if  via  
File | New Chat.

The iChat docs don't mention this and i'm not turning up anything  
online about it. Can anyone reproduce? Is this a bug or intended   
behavior?
