Startup issues

If you can't even boot from a CD, then I don't see how the problem  
could be with your internal HD - And in that case DiskWarrior will  
not be able to resolve your problem.

Also, if you have a good backup I wouldn't bother with trying to  
rescue the current filesystem. IMO it's much better to reformat and  
reinstall in such cases.

Can you use "Target Disk Mode" to mount your new iMac from your old  
iBook? In that case you might be able to salvage any files you're  
missing from your current backup before starting over from scratch.
