a trip down memory lane

I think some of these are simple ideas ahead of their time, rather
than abject failures. Some already have resurfaced in some form or
other:

Morphed into Apple TV [loosely].

One of the first portables to have a clamshell design. And the first
to have an integrated pointing device, IIRC.

Was Yellow Box ever released as a[n Apple] product, though? I think
it was only distributed as a runtime for WebObjects?

Other 'failed' products may yet return... the AOCE technology was my
favourite. Maybe Newton features in a future iPhone?

I also love the idea of OpenDoc, I just don't see how it can ever
work in anything like the current software market - why would I want
to sell you a widget for 10s of $, versus a behemoth for a couple
hundred?
