I'm looking forward to seeing/reading more about the =F0TV. My =20
impression is that it needs iTunes to 'play' the media files, which =20
makes it far less useful that it would otherwise be.
I have quite literally hundreds of gigabytes of divx files that I had =20=
no interest in reconverting into iTunes compatible files, much less =20
importing into iTunes' database, not to mention that I don't have a =20
drive large enough to hold everything in one place.
I will be interested in what sorts of hacks there are to get the =F0TV =20=
to play generic dixx, ogg, or other 'non-Itunes' formats.
What I have right now is smb mounts for Anime, Movies, Kids, Adult, =20
TV, UK, and Music (Adult is movies not for the kids, Kids is not for =20
the adults, and movies is generic, so The Departed is in Adults, =20
Happy Feet in Kids, and Wallace and Gromit in plain old Movies :)
I mount all those on the wintendo which has s-video out to watch them =20=
on TV, or on my own Mac to watch them on my 20" flat panel.
VLC plays everything but the music, and iTunes handles that via =20
library sharing.
