[PSA] Joost sells email addresses

Hello all,

This is a PSA for everyone in the Mac community who might be thinking  
about signing up for the Joost service. Prepare to receive spam at  
the address that you give them.

I signed up for their beta with an email alias, which was given out 1  
time, just to them.  Today I received a spam email to that address.
Joost's privacy policy states very specifically that they will not do  
this.  There is no doubt that they broke their promise and sold my  
email address.

It was easy enough for me to just remove the alias, but I thought you  
might want to be aware of this before you give them an email address  
that you cannot simply disable.  It also could mean that they sell  
more than just your email address, and for a company that will  
eventually have a lot of information about their subscribers (viewing  
history is a very personal thing, IMHO), this could be a very serious  
problem.
