It's a RAID 0. Two 500 GB drives in one case. If one of the drives
fails, kiss everything on both of them goodbye.

I used to have two LaCies, a 200 GB d2 and a 250 GB d2, on my
personal Mac. The 200 gave absolutely no trouble right until about
March this year, when it simply refused to spin up from sleep. It was
about 4 years old. The 250 has been replaced twice under the
warranty, both times because of a power problem rather than the drive
itself. The current unit is now over a year old and still running.
