Inkjet printers

This is a bit off-topic but I'm looking for advice about a desktop
printer for my mother-in-law. She's 90, has a Mac (original TiBook
actually, handed down from me) and an Epson printer that is terminally
clogged because she prints twice a year whether she needs to or not.

It's been my experience that an inkjet printer clogs when it isn't
used very often, even when kept turned off except when used.

A laser printer in this application seems too expensive and overkill
and besides she can't print pictures, even the crudy color on plain
pictures are fine for her to share with others.

I'm looking for a very low duty-cycle printer for this use.

Any suggestions?
