Airport 64-bit WEP support ?

does Airport support 64-bit WEP ?  a student of mine bought his first  
Mac (iMac) on Thursday and can't connect to the family's ActionTec  
router (default setting on router is 64-bit WEP) -- they have a PC  
desktop and a PC laptop (wireless) hooked up to the router.  They're  
having problems getting any of the 9 choices for Airport to work.

I think they're going to try to set the ActionTec to 128 bit , but  
they're having problem with that as well  (apparently the  
documentation for the router isn't clear)

is there a way for Airport to support 64-bit WEP? if so, are there  
instructions or a link I can forward to them?

if not, will they simply have to figure out how to set the router to  
a different to one of the other options?
