The ability to put 40 or 50 DVD quality xvids on one disc?  To backup  
all my mail, photos, and $HOME on one disk?  To put my entire  
collection of MP3 and AAC files on 3 discs?

Um, yeah, I can see that.  $700 for the drive?  Maybe not.
