Well, technically it's not a QuickTime issue at all. It's a browser 
issue. The browser's JS engine is handling the javascript in the 
QuickTime file. The issue is that it's getting the QT file from a 
source different from the website showing the movie. This is the 
problem. No browser currently seems to correctly handle it. It may 
not work in Safari or Opera just because of bugs in their plugin 
implementation, I don't know. See these two bugs:

It really affects all plugins since it is the browser that has the bug.
