AE/g allows me to choose from 1-11 (it's set at 1)
AE/n (in 5Ghz N only mode), has one option only :  "Automatic"

according to the HELP:

"Nearby base stations using adjacent channels. For example, if base  
station A is set to channel 1, base station B should be set to  
channel 6 or 11."

By dropping AE/n  to 2.4 Ghz, I  can choose 1-11 (it's set at 11)

I'll see how that goes.

so far, it's going back and forth between 4 and 5 bars
