The new Airport Utility actually has a Logs and Statistics menu item
under "Base Station"

I have been looking at the logs for the last two days trying to
notice a pattern.

utility also has quite a few new features, including a realtime
analysis of clients and signal strength/noise (it's a pretty slick
interface)

i'm not sure how to interpret the numbers yet .. but

Often, when the log shows this:

"Rotated TKIP group key"

the next entry is:

"Disassociated with station ..."

At that moment, maybe the shared drive gets dropped and doesn't come
back on the grid?

Not sure yet, because it doesn't seem consistent.

I mounted LaCie off the hub hanging off the AE/n a few hours ago, and
it stayed online ..
but, a short while ago, I pulled it off the hub and plugged it in
directly to the AE/n's USB port to see if the drive will stay live
throughout the day
