Default apps for opening files

You need to rebuild you Launch Services database. Here is the command  
to do so:

/System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/ 
LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local - 
domain system -domain user

(That should all be on one line if you email client splits is).
