Mac Book Pros and Macbook battery drain question

Hello:
I was wondering if MacBook Pros and Macbooks are like Powerbook G4's
in that when they are unplugged and the battery runs down to the
point of putting the machine to sleep, does it just take a press of
the power button after reconnecting to power to have the computer
cycle back up, and are there a series of white dots that go across
the screen for about 15 seconds?
My G3 Pismo never needed much time to wake, so I was wondering how
the Intel notebooks handle the wake from "battery out" sleep.
Thanks,
Andrew Darlow
