AE (802.11n) shared drive - FINDER search?

I just set up a new AE with a shared drive.  Drive is mounted fine,  
but when I do a search in the Finder, there doesn't appear to be a  
search event taking place.  No activity, zero results.

Is there something I need to do to enable the Finder to search for  
items on a shared drive hanging off the new AE?
I checked preferences, but haven 't seen anything yet.
