Don't you think for a minute I haven't considered that many times ;-)
The worst thing is standing there with my finger on the T key knowing
in the back of my mind that the system has already checked whether
the key is down or not and is now quietly laughing in a background
process at how silly I look still standing there holding the key down.
I'm not sure why Apple doesn't provide some visual feedback when keys
are pressed during the boot sequence as to what they will do and
visual or audible feedback when the key has been recognised and the
decision made to proceed with a certain boot context.
It could be due to the limited functionality available during the
early stages of the boot but I suspect its more a desire on Steve's
part to keep things clear and elegant. We don't want know
informative text messing up that lovely screen with the Apple logo ...
Cheers,
Ashley.
