Bit compare folder hierarchy with binary files?

Thanks Guys!

I don't know why but I thought diff would choke on binary files (it  
doesn't mention binary in the man page and it goes on about end-of- 
line, comparing lines etc).  Turns out the quiet mode (-q) seems to  
work and, of course, -r helps a lot with directory hierarchies.
