Yes, it is a little awkward, but I don't find it too much of a problem.

Mine seem to last long enough - so long, that I'm not even sure how  
long it is! Probably 4 to 6 months or so.

I've not seen this problem. One small problem I have, is that  
sometimes on my MBP, the right-click doesn't work, and I have to turn  
the mouse off/on to fix it. This seems to happen after waking from  
sleep, and only about once a week or less.

I agree that the right-click is something that could be improved. But  
despite this issue, I like my mighty mouse.
