Thanks, that sounds very plausible.  I think it adds up to 7.2 seconds
over 2 hours.  Ok, next question:  how to avoid it??

Hmm, on the other hand, in iMovie '06, I have the framerate set to
29.97.  So shouldn't it be using that as the framerate when calculating
the positions?

The only options given are 29.97 and 25...
