Adobe CS3 not installing due to Safari 3.x ?

My BIL just got CS3 and says he can't install it due to Safari 3.0.3  
on his system.
Is this happening for all users of Safari beta ? Intel only?

He's wondering if he can revert to Safari, 2.x --

are these just updates or the full install?
