Does anyone know what the specs for an external antenna for 802.11n
would be? Is it just 2 (or 3) hooked up, or are there requirements
or spacing, length, special filtering of signals between them, etc?

As for the external-antenna niche market, I bet if it's
technically possibly and feasible (meaning marketable), someone will
figure out how to make a bigger and/or stronger MIMO antenna (or
perhaps one with 4 antennas in a line, not just 2; or 3 that are
mutually perpendicular in a cube), that will then hook onto the AE
somehow - even it it means sticking small transmitters to the side of
the box and putting the whole thing in a Faraday cage.. (They could
call it the Jar Antenna Extender.. :) )
