nope! because the article is wrong. Just drag a movie into GB and
it will create a video track and you're good to go. That's what I
ended up doing when I needed to fix the audio from the camcorder (as
iMovie won't let us capture video and audio from different sources, I
have to send audio into the camcorder, let the camcorder do the
sampling == which really sucks ==).
I first dropped the movie into Logic Pro, so I could use my plethora
of plugins and high-end effects. After fixing the audio the best I
could, I discovered a bug in Logic Pro that prevents you from
actually "Exporting Audio to Movie". So I then dragged the movie
into the new GB, muted the existing audio track that was contained in
the movie, then dragged the audio track I'd exported from Logic Pro
into GB. And now, in GB, I could share the movie out to iWeb, iDVD
or save to disk.
At this point, I'll just EXPORT from iMovie to the MEDIA BROWSER and
select the various formats ... then fix the audio in GB (instead of
LPro - not optimal, but a time saver given my workflow for these
types of projects).
A better scenario would be to actually just fix the audio in LP or
GB, then bring that audio back into iMovie as a track (hope it syncs
- haven't tried it yet) .. mute the original audio ..
and THEN export to the various targets.
Even better: if iMovie supported all the audio plugins I have in my
system, then I wouldn't have to export just to fix the audio.
But .. nothing is perfect.
